I’m Dr Mohamed Otify MSc, FRCOG, a Consultant Gynaecologist and Gynaecological Oncology Surgeon based at Liverpool Women’s Hospital and The Royal Liverpool University Hospital, with additional practice at Christie’s Private Care, Spire Wirral, Nuffield Health Chester, and The Wilmslow Hospital (HCA Healthcare UK).
As Clinical Lead for Gynaecological Oncology at Liverpool Women’s Hospital and one of the leading robotic surgeons in the UK, I am committed to delivering safe, precise, and personalised care — from complex cancer operations to advanced minimally invasive procedures for benign conditions.
My medical training began in 2002, with postgraduate experience across London, Edinburgh, and the North West of England, followed by accredited subspecialty fellowship training in Gynaecological Oncology.
I hold two Master’s degrees (MSc) — one from Ain Shams University, Cairo, and another from Cardiff University, UK — as well as a Diploma in Gynaecological Endoscopy from the European Academy of Gynaecological Surgery, Leuven, Belgium. These qualifications reflect a sustained commitment to academic excellence, surgical innovation, and patient-centred care.
In 2025, I was honoured to be elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG), recognising my sustained contribution and senior leadership within the specialty.
Over my career, I have performed more than 700 robotic and advanced laparoscopic operations, focusing on rapid recovery, minimal pain, and excellent long-term outcomes.
I currently serve as:
Through these roles, I help shape national standards for robotic surgical training, governance, and quality improvement. I am also actively involved in developing digital transformation and patient-safety programmes within women’s cancer care.
In January 2025, our team at Liverpool Women’s Hospital achieved the milestone of performing more than 1,000 robotic gynaecological procedures — one of the highest volumes in the UK — reflecting our shared commitment to innovation, surgical precision, and exceptional patient outcomes.
In 2024, I was honoured with the Liverpool Ambassador Award, presented by Liverpool City Council and Liverpool Football Club, in recognition of bringing the BIARGS 2024 Conference to Liverpool — an event that highlighted the city’s leadership in robotic gynaecological surgery and medical education on an international stage.

Every woman’s situation is unique. My approach is to listen carefully, explain clearly, and tailor treatment to each individual’s needs, values and priorities. I believe informed patients make confident decisions, so I focus on open dialogue and shared understanding at every stage of care.
I am also deeply committed to equality and inclusivity in healthcare. My practice welcomes and supports patients of all backgrounds — regardless of age, ethnicity, faith, gender identity, sexual orientation, or personal circumstances. Every consultation is conducted in a respectful, confidential environment where patients are heard, supported and never judged.
Whether the goal is fertility preservation, relief from symptoms, or curative cancer surgery, I strive to ensure that every woman receives care that is compassionate, transparent, and respectful — combining clinical expertise with human understanding.
Alongside clinical practice, I am actively involved in training surgeons, mentoring trainees, and developing robotic surgery curricula.
I have contributed to several peer-reviewed publications and national service-improvement projects focusing on digital innovation and patient safety in oncology.
My ongoing interests include optimising robotic pathways, enhancing digital communication systems, and expanding access to minimally invasive cancer care.
